Yours Truly

I’m Originally from Chicago and then I moved to Texas when I was 7. I moved around quit a bit actually around Texas before graduating high school in 2002 and I got my first taste of distant countries when my mom took my brother and I to Jamaica for my graduation present. In the fall I began my freshmen year at Texas A&M University and then in 2004 I moved to the west coast of Florida to the Tampa Bay area.

I graduated in May 2007 from The University of South Florida where I got two Bachelors degrees; one in International Studies & the other in Economics. Additionally, I have my certificate in Asian Studies since I found learning about India and Southeast Asia so fascinating while studying Japanese.

Upon graduating I decided that I really needed to get out more and explore the world.  To get a better understanding of what I studied for the past few years in correlation to international relations, literature, politics, history and culture; conflict, actors, wealth and power. To appreciate life in a way that will bring me love, happiness and a deeper understanding from a stance where I have seen, heard, touched, tasted and felt what it means to be among people of a different country, different city, different culture.

From my first time to Europe on to London, Geneva, and Paris; to Bangkok, Seim Reap, Ho Chi Minh, Hoi An, Hue and Hanoi.  To where the West meets East in Istanbul down to Pammakale, Izmir, Konya, Nevshihir, and Ankara. Freeport for relaxation on a Caribbean island before heading to Split from London to Sarajevo, Sanski Most, Srebrenica, and Mostar. To Dubrovnik, Kotor, Tirana, around Lake Ohrid in a 27 Km hike through darkness and adventure.  The newly formed country of Kosovo in Preshtina, to Litochoro, and up Mount Olympus before heading on to Athens.  Reykjavik, Maastrich, Ghent, Bruges over to Bratislava.  Krokow, Auschwitz, L’viv, Warsaw, Vilnius, Tallinn, Parnu to Riga and off to Bruxelles and Amsterdam. Cusco, Machu Picchu, Huacachina, Nazca to Paracas, and Lima. And soon to depart for Belize City in quest for Belmopan and whatever adventures lies ahead in the months to come.

Why is it when I think of traveling and the world I feel as if I’m in LOVE? As if my passion is driven by the thought of exploring the unknown.

I have been working on my Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance the past two years. And in August 2011 I will graduate!  To continue my adventure of searching for that perfect job that will represent me well and in which I can make a difference in the world around me.
